Flowers’ investigative work has appeared in VICE, Truthout, ABA Journal and elsewhere. Her journalism has contributed to the release of an innocent prisoner, a stay of execution of a death row inmate and a police chief resigning amid video evidence of him firing a warning shot at a citizen.

Flowers’ two-month investigation (with co-author Sarah Macaraeg) into police shootings and misconduct in Chicago was covered in AlJazeera AmericaCrains Chicago Business and on Chicago Public Radio, The Real News Network, WNUR Chicago and the Matthew Filipowicz Show. The piece also appears in the collection “Who Do You Serve? Who Do You Protect?: Police Violence and Resistance in the United States” (Haymarket, 2016).
